Hydro-Excavation Services

Safe, Non-Destructive Digging

About

Hydro-excavation uses pressurized water and vacuum systems to safely remove soil, minimizing the risk of damaging underground utilities and structures. It is the safest and most efficient method for excavation in sensitive areas.

Our Hydro-Excavation Services Include:

  • Utility and pipeline location

  • Potholing and daylighting

  • Trenching for electrical and plumbing installations

  • Slot trenching for narrow excavation needs

  • Tank clean-outs and industrial facility maintenance

Why Choose Hydro-Excavation?

  • Utilizing water pressure is an effective way to cut through soil and plants while not damaging anything below said ground. Soil is softened with water and then vacuumed up to reveal wiring, piping, or to simply dig up dirt for trenches and ditches.

  • Hydrovac water can be turned up to be hot, enabling frozen soil to be cut through. This allows construction and repair projects to continue throughout the cold months.

  • The hydrovac process is done with a wand that projects precision jets of water in a tight and precise stream. In the hands of an experienced worker, this stream of water can target specific patches of ground without affecting nearby objects. These wands are also flexible, allowing them to be bent into shapes that enable them to be used in just about any situation.

  • The risk of damaging underground infrastructure when using traditional mechanical excavation equipment is a constant risk of time lost in a project from having to stop and repair these damaged pipes and wiring. Due to its gentler nature, hydrovac doesn’t affect this infrastructure and is also just as effective in excavation.

Types of Hydrovac Services

  • Hydro Trenching

Hydro excavation is a method of soil removal. The procedure employs pressured water to generate a slurry of soil instead of mechanical equipment. The slurry can then be vacuumed up using hydrovac machinery to expose deeper layers of the ground below.

  • Hydrolasing

Hydro blasting is similar to power washing but on a larger scale. It’s useful for cleaning out things like pipes and large tanks. It utilizes the same technology used in Hydro excavation but is instead used to blast dirt from surfaces. The pressure that can be put out can clean most forms of grime and filth. It can also clean pipes by flushing them out with high pressure.

  • Daylighting

Daylighting is the process of locating pipes and utility lines by digging holes in the ground, hence the term “daylighting”. Daylighting is often done with a drill, but doing it with hydro blasting is much safer for the pipes and lines themselves. This is useful both for mapping out where these underground objects are but also for checking them for damage.
